How Does Chiltern help children reach their potential?


We strive to help all children reach their full potential emotionally, academically, creatively, physically and socially, in a stimulating environment where teaching and learning go hand in hand with pastoral care.


Our school is a happy, safe and supportive environment that aims to give every child confidence and a true sense of worth.


Most of the children who come to Chiltern tutorial School have had difficulty in being able to learn elsewhere.  We find that these children soon develop the confidence and self-belief that allows them to flourish in this environment.


A mother of a child at Chiltern recently said that her son now comes to school because he wants to, not because his she wants him to.


Chiltern School has a warm family atmosphere. This is created by the positive relationships the adults foster with the children and the children are encouraged to foster with each other, there is a  sense of ‘siblings’ at our school.


The teaching groups are arranged in mixed year groups. We believe this helps the children emotionally and academically and goes a long way to creating this family feel.
